Basic salary is the most important thing for every employee for they want such a good remuneration package to get welfare. Negotiating basic salary often very difficult and time consuming both for employee and employer. So how to negotiate basic salary efficiently without causing anxiety?

How to Negotiate Basic Salary

1) Know your base
It is important for you to know what is your average base regarding your field of competence. Find and ask to the professional organization with your background. Later you may compare with your monthly cash expense to get clear view how much basic salary fit your need..

2) Know your skill

Understanding clearly your own skill may help you to be confident during salary negotiation. You know how worth your skill for the company and how much package company should pay for you. But off course don’t be over confident, you also have to look for the company status and company’s compensation price range.

3) Know your company’s compensation package.

Basic salary is important but you should not forget the whole of company’s compensation package. Take a look at company’s health insurance, car and home package, promotions, allowed time off, or retirement settlements. That way can help you make sure a fair proposed basic salary.

4) Know yourself

What doest it mean? It means you better to have a good attitude until you can sell yourself confidently. Show your self, what do you really want and try to understand what does the company wants, never compete during negotiating.

5) Know your position

It is important to know your position in negotiation session. Once you get the offer never try to push further. It will make a bad impact for your first impression.

6) Work as best as you can

Once you are hired with your proposed basic salary then it is time to show to the company your best effort. Prove to the company by working as best as you can until the company realized that you are worth for the company.
