What are jobs description for manager ?

As I already retire from my previous job as a project superintend in the PET Film industry, now I’m looking for a job manager vacancy. So I need to know first what kind of manager responsibility exactly it will be. In the short word, what are job descriptions for manager?

To what I know, one thing as a manager surely should manage the operational. So the process can run smoothly and keep safe until the company’s target achieved that will result in significant benefit. But off course the job descriptions manager was not so simple like this.

Referring to my ex-manager in my previous company, I saw He had lots of work. Keeping the process run smoothly was not only by maintaining the machine but more than that also how to maintain sub-ordinate at plant site. And that was quite stressing.

But at least for now I know, to be a manager I should have the ability of managing the operational. One of the tasks is how to maintain our subordinate so they work as best as they can that at the end will keep the process run smoothly and result in company’s benefit.
