What should we do to save our jobs and avoid layoffs? Everyone certainly do not want to lose their jobs due to layoffs because layoffs can often make a mess of one’s life. Watching the news on how a company laying off their employees really have been quite alarming. While we can never know for sure, how the companies choose employees who will be retained and who will be laid off. So what should we do to save our jobs and avoid layoffs?
We all know that most companies use seniority in determining which employees will be laid off. Employees who have worked longer would be in priority than a new employee. Therefore, to save our jobs and avoid layoffs is important for us to observe this situation as well as possible, whether we stay or immediately prepared ourselves to find a new job. If we include the category of new employees it is plausible if we prepare ourselves to find new, more stable companies before layoffs occur. However, if we considered senior employees, it might be wise if we are more careful before deciding to find a new job.
Of course not all companies base their choice of employees laid off by seniority scale, there are many who prefer based on work performance and quality employees. Since a qualified employee is a valuable asset to help raise the company’s success. Based on this, to save our jobs and avoid layoffs it is important that we always try to work as good as possible. We should be able to show our best performance we can do for the company, although the company is in a state that is not profitable. This certainly will become its own record for our bosses when they have to make decisions on whom to be laid off.
Showing a good job performance can also be done by displaying our ability that we can do more than one different tasks. This means we not only can do our own work, but when necessary we are also able to handle other jobs. This will be a useful provision for us when the company planned to conduct layoffs and restructuring. Show the company that we are a worker that ready to try a variety of different job challenges.
Basically there is no exact guarantee to save our jobs and avoid layoffs. Therefore, it is important to always improve our quality. Keep learning to improve our knowledge and skill. Follow the career training or additional training, so that we can become a useful asset for the company where we work.
To your success.
